Neurological Development & Processing

As individuals we rely upon our brains and bodies to relate and react to the environment around us. The way we process the environment and information (input) and react or respond to it (output) depends on how our brain has grown and developed throughout the many stages of our lives. Each level of development we transition through builds upon the previous, similar to the floors in a building. If the foundation is unstable and there are holes or gaps in the construction of it, the subsequent floors will show signs and symptoms of these gaps as well. The same goes for our brains through the stages of development. If our foundation or previous level of development was not fully complete these holes or gaps can appear in the way we process information and react to our environment. This may result in us having to work harder to compensate for the insufficiencies or just give up.

Here at Sensory Stepping Stones, through our expert assessment and unique intervention strategies, we are able to determine where these insufficiencies may be and help to develop a stronger foundation so that they are better equipped to address the challenges of their everyday world.

We recognize the unique needs of all individuals and will treat every individual and their family with the respect and dignity they deserve. It is our mission to develop specific programs to enhance mental, physical and functional performance. Our clinic insists on creating an atmosphere that encourages everyone to learn, discover, mature and develop a positive self-esteem.
